Description

These Oreo Balls are a delectable, no-bake dessert made with crushed Oreos, creamy cream cheese, and a coating of rich chocolate. These little bite-sized treats are perfect for holiday parties, celebrations, or whenever you’re craving something sweet. With their smooth, creamy interior and crunchy Oreo crust, they’re an irresistible treat that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (15.25 oz) Oreo cookies (regular or double stuff)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips or white chocolate chips (for coating)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (optional, for smoother coating)
  • Sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or colored sugar (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Oreo Mixture:

  1. Using a food processor or a Ziploc bag and rolling pin, crush the Oreos into fine crumbs. You can also crush the Oreos by hand, but a food processor will give you the finest crumbs.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos and softened cream cheese. Mix until fully combined and the mixture is smooth. You can use a hand mixer or a stand mixer to make this process easier.

2. Form the Balls:

  1. Scoop out small portions of the Oreo mixture, about 1 inch in size, and roll them into smooth balls. Place the rolled balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

3. Coat the Oreo Balls:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the melted chocolate for a smoother coating (optional).
  2. Dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate, using a fork or toothpick to hold the ball and dip it in the chocolate. Let any excess chocolate drip off before placing the coated ball back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. If desired, sprinkle the top with crushed Oreos, sprinkles, or colored sugar while the chocolate is still wet.

4. Chill the Oreo Balls:

  1. Once all the balls are coated and decorated, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate coating is firm.

5. Serve:

  1. Once chilled, the Oreo balls are ready to serve! Enjoy these creamy, chocolaty bites of goodness.

Tips for Success

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature before mixing for the smoothest consistency.
  • If you prefer white chocolate, you can use white chocolate chips instead of semisweet chocolate for the coating.
  • You can also drizzle some extra melted chocolate on top of the Oreo balls for an added touch of elegance.

Recommendations

  • For a festive look, top the Oreo balls with holiday-themed sprinkles or edible glitter.
  • Serve these Oreo balls at parties, potlucks, or as a treat with coffee or milk.
